I restored this 1946 J3 Cub around 1998 under the supervision of SDAir with Scott Draper and his father Herb. Most of it is original, but I added Univair sealed struts and STC'd shoulder harnesses during the rebuild. The nose cowl, boot cowl, and wing leading edges are also new from Univair. The new propeller was added a few years ago. In June, 2004, I was able to buy an A65 engine that had been removed from a plane in the 60's then "pickled" and stored in Arizona for the next 40 years. It had 285 hours on it since new and is now mounted on this plane. I have all original logs for the airplane and the engine. This is quite likely one of the "youngest" old Cubs being flown in the world today.
